r e v i e w ♡ Y.R.U shoes Qozmo Sky + Qozmo Hi platforms

You have no idea how truly, madly, deeply I wish this right here was a positive review. Partly because prior to finding YRU, which I did fashionably late (pun intended), looking for the perfect pair of platforms seemed completely impossible. And partly because this is the first time I have actually spent a bigger amount of money on a pair of shoes, and it would of course have been nice to get my money's worth. I certainly, did not.

Again, I wish this was a positive review, as those are much nicer to read, but it is not. And that is exactly why I am writing it.
Red flag, amigos!

I bought two pairs of YRU shoes, both from the Qozmo family - a black pair of Qozmo Sky 6 inch platforms, and a white pair of Qozmo Hi 4 inch platforms. Let us start with the biggest disaster:

Q O Z M O / S K Y (BLACK)

Looks neat, right?

Great, even. 6 inches of beauty. The design is definitely 9 out of 10, had they been less shiny, it would have been a 10, no question about it. This, however, is less neat.

Everything about the design and how great these shoes look becomes extremely irrelevant, when this happens after wearing them just three times.

Three. Times.

Stubborn as I am, I refused to let this stop me, so I grabbed a hammer and a fistful of nails and attacked. It worked, for a little while. The metal thingies used to keep the shoe laces in place fell off, but that did not exactly stop me from walking. I could wear them maybe five more times, before disaster struck again, and I fell on my face as I was getting off the bus.

For 100 USD, this is not okay, at all. For 50 USD this is not okay.
For literally any amount of money, this is not okay, should not happen.

Some of you might think "You probably weren't careful enough" or "The problem is probably you, not the shoes" and I understand your thinking, I wish you were right, because that would actually have been easier to accept. But the thing is, I was as careful as anyone could have possibly been with these, from the moment I got them.

I only stumbled maybe once in them before they broke the first time, took the escalator instead of the stairs, did not run, or do anything that could have led to this. I, literally, just walked in them.

I have super-glued them once again, now, and I have removed all the metal parts that kept falling off from the top, because I do not own a lot of shoes and I cannot afford another pair from another brand right now. Not a lot of options. I guess I am just too stubborn for my own good. The glue I used this time is a lot stronger, though, so hopefully I will be able to use them at least every now and then.

The overall score, however, is a 1/10.

And that is only because they look so damn good
and make my legs look just as damn good.

Q O Z M O / H I ( WHITE)

These, I cannot complain about as much. Fortunately?

They have actually kept it together almost all the way since I got them, early this summer, with two minor exceptions - the stitching by the shoelaces on the right shoe ripped, leaving a big hole, and the metal pieces are all loose, so they can spin around like tiny ballerinas.

When I was out and about in these the other day, I felt a strange pop, and a brief investigation revealed that it is time to bring out the super-glue again, before the small gap I spotted turns into what you saw on the pictures you saw higher up in this post. The shoelaces also got worn out very quickly

Overall score: 5/10

Worth it if you can get a big discount, and have super-glue within reach,
in case of emergency.

Now, firstly,  I have contacted both Dolls Kill - the site I ordered from - and Y.R.U. about this, neither one have replied. You would think they could at least do that much.

Secondly, I have read mixed reviews, as many positive as negative. Perhaps I am just one of the unlucky ones who ended up with a bad pair. Or, well, one really bad pair and one mediocre pair. Thing is, though, there should not be any pairs so poorly put together they break so badly and so quickly. This happening to one single person is bad enough. Especially not with that pricetag. Demonia platforms are supposed to be really nice, so if you are looking for platforms, check them out instead.

In conclusion, Y.R.U shoes; not recommended.

Well, posting something so gloomy the day before Christmas seems a bit weird, am I right? Very out of place. Hm.

Do not treat yo' self to these this Christmas.
There, now it is at least Christmas themed.

Happy holidays everyone! I wish you all the best, you deserve it.
Lots and lots of love. (´∇ノ`*)ノ

v - l o g ♡ # 1

Well, would you look at that?
I actually made a v-log.

Since there is no need for me to repeat the video caption over and over, and bore the life out of you, I will just say really quickly that the sound is a little bad, and then leave it like this this time! But. The caption also said I would make a post here with some... fashion type content, related to the video. The video, that I recorded yesterday before a flea market event here in Stockholm, Kawaii Fashion Loppis. I was extremely exhausted. Like, so tired I nearly fell asleep before it started, right in the middle of a conversation. But, it is always nice to spend time with my friends.

And my eyebrows were really on point, and my cardigan is so cozy I was basically just floating around all day long. Then I managed to sleep through the night for the first time in, I do not even remember. So not even a tiny little reason to pout.

 ♡

Flea market look! Butterflies is apparently my new thing?

It is funny how at least half of the guests discretely slipped in behind our table to take pictures of their outfits (all Instagram active street fashion swedes gathered in one place, it is bound to happen), because there was a huge mirror right where we were standing, yet I did not manage to snap a single picture... But this will have to do. Not the end of the world. I have a feeling this top will quickly become my new best friend.

Fedora / hat : H&M
Wig : Taobao or eBay
(search for "gradient wig" to find similar ones!)
Butterflies : Actually from a little interior design store in Amsterdam.
Glasses : eBay
Choker : eBay
Necklace : Vivienne Westwood
Cardigan : H&M

So... do I have anything else to write?

No, I think that is actually it. I hope some of you will watch the video! It was rather fun to record, and a great way to practice English too I suppose. Who knows, maybe you will even like it, even though my rambling is rather pointless.
Haha. ~

Night night people. ( ・Ω・)
Oh and early Merry Christmas, Hanukkah and everything else!

c a p i t o l ♡ f a s h i o n : That is MAHOGANY!

As the title of this post reveals, this one is about capitol inspired looks. More specifically what I experimented with earlier today. If you, for some reason, have missed The Hunger Games movies, let me quickly break it down for you:

This is not a spoiler so do not start with me. The capitol is a perfect example of how a manipulative leader can turn people into ignorantly blissful puppets, living in their own little bubble, shielded from oppression and struggles people face, outside that bubble. A competition where tweens and teens from the districts outside the capitil are forced to fight and kill each other, until there is only one of them left.

President snow. Katniss, the main character in the books, turns into a rebel. War and bla bla bla. One of the best book series - and movies - I have ever come across.

Any, way!

The capitol may be a nightmare representation of a large chunk of the things that are wrong with this world, but damn, are the citizens fashionable. Like, crazy fashionable. Literally.

Effie Trinket is a Queen.

Guess which one I was most inspired by?
Look at this. I mean. The makeup. The hair.

I could not help myself, after watching the final movie, and decided to play around with some makeup and bomb my face with glitter and whatnot, because I may not want to become one of them, but I would love to occasionally at least look like them.

So this happened:

I used so many products I cannot even name all of them, will name the most essential ones right below! I do not even know if anyone wants to read how this happened.
But I figured I should include it, just in case.

p r o c e d u r e

So, how did I do this?
Well, for starters, white foundation is, as I wrote on Twitter, "a pain in all of my asses." To be fair I have not tried any other brands, maybe there are some better more high-end alternatives, but the one I used from Manic Panic required quite a lot of work to get this result.

You basically have to work in layers. Use a round makeup sponge - an egg sponge, is what they are called - and pat it on. Do not just smear it, pat it on. I cannot stress this enough, it will look awful otherwise. So, a little bit at a time, set it with a very light powder. I used Make Up Store's lightest shade, and I used lots and lots of it, to force this mess to set. Thankfully it obeyed eventually.

After that, winged waterproof eyeliner, heaps of color! I used an eyeshadow palette from eBay, with all the colors of the rainbow and many more, a white eyeliner from Isadora, and Maybelline's 24 Hour Tattoo eyeshadow, in white. So eyeliner and white eyeshadow in the corner of my eye - a technique I use all the time, makes the eyes look bigger - yellow over the lid, then a mix of orange and brown, that I powdered my cheeks with as well. Then glitter, attached with eyelash glue. And then eyelashes. From Dolly Wink. And white mascara on my own lashes.

I should do a tutorial on this, maybe. Boy is it hard to explain in text.
I am sorry.

I am honestly very pleased with the result, although I went with a less colorful and vibrant version. A me version, so to speak. I need to get some crazy clothes so I can do this properly, head to toe... And convince my friends to join me. Like a, weird mafia.

Anyway anyway. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think! If you have any thoughts, that is. I would appreciate it a lot. And, if you have ever been inspired by The Capitol yourself, share! I would love to see it. ♡

Night night for now buddies!

F A R ★ S T A R : Feat. Gandalfkorv

Two posts in one day? Say what?
(No I did not fall and hit my head, creativity just attacked and that is nice!)

This right here is a flyer for a brand called FAR★STAR, featuring my stylish buddy Lina.
Guess who is the proud photographer?

Yours truly. This intro would not make a lot of sense otherwise.

Anyhow, FAR★STAR asked Lina to model their clothes and take some pictures they could use for their flyers. Knowing I have a DSLR camera, she asked me for help, and so we fought the Swedish summer heat - believe it or not, it does get really freaking hot in the summer, before the polar bears take over - and walked around for hours, looking for good, clean backgrounds and taking an endless amount of pictures.

This human can really pull off anything,
and I have all these rather great pictures on my laptop.
Seems silly not to post them anywhere, right?

So here goes:

First some white and black (as you can obviously see)...

And then some black and white. ~

Looks great, right? I cannot believe I have not used this lens before.
They turned out so Sharp and Vibrant.

+ 10/10 on these designs, man.

I really do love taking fashion pictures of friends and other people, but for some reason I rarely do. This was heaps of fun, despite the heat and my boiling wig hidden head. I want to have a photoshoot with more people.

A Hunger Games Capitol fashion photoshoot would be so epic, right? On some sort of urban or more city-like location. I know many people who have pulled off amazing looks for the premieres, or just in general been inspired by it. I have to pester my friends and convince them to join. (If any of you are reading this, by any chance, hit me up okay! This kind of applies to the rest of you as well. ♡)

Okay, time to sort out my life and log out.
It is 03:00 in the morning here and I know I am exhausted, I just simply do not feel it. I am 21 years old now. I am getting too old for these teenage habits. Dear Lord.

Goodnight darlings. ♡ U da bomb.

l i f e ♡ u p d a t e : December 2015 edition

Winter is here, and I have not updated in a while. So here is a picture of the sleeve of the best thing I have ever bought, and a mindless update about my life. I will whine a little bit but end on a positive note. Enjoy!

Every single time I get to experience a couple of great weeks, full of energy and fun plans, life decides to slap me in the face. I applied for the 5 week science course when I thought I applied for the 10 week course, did not realize until two weeks had gone by... Thus, did not sleep for three weeks because I had to work, science is not my best subject so I really had to concentrate, and lost every ounce of energy and motivation to, you know, go outside.

I do only have me and my own klutzy brain to blame, here, as this could have easily been avoided, had I only bothered to sit down with my calendar and properly plan my working schedule.
I think many can relate to this, though.

So, who else is a total airhead?
We are pretty great no matter what. Do not feel bad.

At the same time, I have been popping pills for stress developed gastritis and pain killers for my wisdom tooth, which has been hurting so much I have not been able to even think. I finally went to the dentist and while the rest of my teeth looked good, thank god, my dentist just fell silent when he looked at that damn tooth, then breathed that it was the worst thing he had ever seen.

Anyway, the tooth is temoporarily filled and will be surgically (it had crooked roots and could not just be pulled out) removed in a week, the course is finally over now, and I somehow managed to get a B. I started laughing manically when my grade came in the mail. A B in science?! If my younger self, a sad emo crying into her chemistry book, could se me now. Sorry if this is bragging but I am really, really proud.

Remind me to never ever postpone things though, I am still exhausted and boy do I need some time off. I am finally starting to feel more energetic though, so let me stop the negativity right here!

So, what have I been up to, since the course ended?

Well, I have started playing games. Life Is Strange was amazing and now Beyond: Two Souls. I have spent time with dearly missed friends, cleaned my room and gone through all the crap my hoarder brain has forced me to keep. This weekend I spent the evening at lovely Isa's place and watched a really bad movie, today I went into town with my friend Lina, and now I am sitting here, officially not feeling very bitter at all.

I even managed to wear actual clothes today!
(I wore pajama pants out with this though but let us not discuss that.)

The light is awful this time of year. Thank you, Sweden.
So no full outfit, but my coat is fluffy, which makes it completey okay.

I have done a little bit of shopping too... not everything at once, but here and there.

A little bit of makeup, the Lumene foundation is highly recommended, and the 24 hour Maybelline tattoo eyeshadow is mind blowingly amazing. H&M's new makeup line is great, so I got two eyeshadows. Two lipsticks from Kicks, two from Viva la Diva, an eyeshadow primer from NYX, a white eyeliner from Isadora, a fine tip liquid eyeliner from Maybelline.

So is the coat from Monki!
I have not treated myself to a proper coat since I was 16, I am worth it.

The pictures are - due to, you guessed it, the light in Sweden - awful, but these are this week's purchases: a beanie (shaped like the top of a condom when I wear it, ironic considering my sexuality) from H&M, super hipster glasses from a place called Butterick's, and glitter and rhinestones from a local craft store, for makeup experiments.

I also bought a pair of zodiac/star sign print pajama pants, that I am using as regular tights. Because I can and they are awesome.

I am not quite sure as to why I wrote this post, or what the point is, but I started writing and I figured why not share? Even though this is all seemingly pointless.

I suppose I just wanted to update a little, write off the stress, after taking a social media break. I think we all need that sometimes!

Okay, now we have reached the end of this post.
Go hug someone you love and I will see you soon. I do have some outfits to post and other mindless rants as well, I believe! ♡

s u m m e r ♡ f a s h i o n

It is September, and it is officially not summer anymore. Well, at least not really, I am not entirely sure, because Sweden has been playing tricks on me for the past two weeks. My father once said "Sweden is more bipolar than you" and thought he was so flippadoodelin' clever he was practically jumping with joy when we were talking about the weather and changing seasons here, and while I aged thirty years from listening to that clever joke, I had to admit that he was actually right.

Two days ago it was pouring so heavily I almost drowned and it was so cold I could barely feel my legs, yesterday was so warm and sunny my eyes wanted to crawl out of my skull.

I will regret saying this in a few weeks; but I actually want Sweater Weather to unpack its bags and settle down comfortably, already. I am actually quite done with summer.

So, I figured it could be a nice idea to say Good Bye to the season with an outfit post?
Yes.

I only managed to repair my hair to a somewhat decent state towards the end of the summer, so there have been a lot of wigs... Boy do I wish it had looked this good all summer. Wigs are warm. Not recommended.

Featured here are things from SEX POT ReVeNGe, Vulpae
and Wildly Unpopular Apparel, which are all favorites. Just, for the record !

I consider "Only weak people do not wear black in the summer" one of my mottos in life, so I suppose these last few images - the strangely pink and perky one in the upper left corner aside - saved me from completely failing my own philosophy this summer.

I have been thinking about whether I should start making more "hello this is what I have been doing lately" posts here, so that might be something that will pop up here in the future! Do you think it would be a good idea?

Hm. It feels incredibly strange writing a question to people I cannot see, while pictures of my own face are staring back at me.

Oops, there goes my sanity. I guess winter really is coming.

Anyways! I hope your summers have been great, I am one hundred percent sure you deserve only the crème-de-la-crème. ♡ Thank you for stopping by! Take care, ok?

p a s t e l ♡ c o m e b a c k

Title is - obviously - referring to my new hair color!
Okay, to be fair, I have had it for about a month now... but I have not yet posted it here, have I? So why not. Let us say "new" and move along.

Was not even blonde for a month, I think. I am so very indecisive it is almost amusing.
Before and after, anyway.

For this, I used Directions ("Neon Blue"), which is my go-to hair dye brand. I get my Directions from Kawaii Shop or Shock here in Stockholm, but you can find it ridiculously easily on eBay. Literally, it takes two minutes.

Neon Blue is quite a dark shade of blue with purple pigments, so I mixed it with conditioner to brighten it a bit. Pastel things up a notch, so to speak! I used about one cup of regular conditioner, I think I have some Elvital repair type thing, with a little less than a teaspoon of hair dye, give or take a few drops.

This method is great, because you will certainly not have to run to the store or order new hair dye every other week, as I would have had to do if I had gone with a lighter shade of purple dye. So, it is highly recommended! However, I feel obligated to add that you cannot do this with permanent box dye, only with conditioner-based semi-permanent hair dye. Things will go horribly wrong if you try to mix permanent box dye with conditioner ("and you will get cancer and die").

Now that I have washed it a few times, it has turned a little blue though, to say the least. But I think it still looks rather good, so I will wait a while before buying some pink conditioner to throw in the mix and going purple again.

Seems like no matter what I try, I always end up going back to blue.

Seems like no matter what I try, sooner or later I always go back to blue.
Oh, well.

Over and out, petals! ♡
